my last result as an NIE student :)

and the results is out today! my last result as an NIE student, studying there for 4 years, my very very last result :) hmmmm, cant really say that i am very enthusiastic to know, mainly because i know i cant alter much of my result unless i can get like straight As and stuff. been hoping that i can move up to second upper honours but ever since i know practicum does not affect the gpa score, i sort of given up hope. hahaha...but think that is another form of motivation (indirectly) for me to get really good grades for my practicum though, which i did :) of cuz i could have just aimed for a pass for practicum since it is just for us to clear our Aus. i guess is different standards set for ourselves in life and im glad and proud of myself for my perseverance and determination during my practicum period :) well, still must admit that i am a little near yet rather far in fact from my second upper honours even though i am only a 0.07 away from it, makes me not much difference from those scoring 3.50 rite! haha...but still, i am quite surprised with my results with a straight B+. i know i have done my best and at the very least enjoyed myself the days as a university student in NIE :) and i have so many much more things that happened to me these years which i am glad for definitely, gaining much more than what results can bring :) my results as of the year 2011 :)

and may i have a great time as a teacher as much as when im a student! :D

new phase of life! :)

and today marks the first day to me being a brand new beginning teacher!! :) actually didn't feel exceptionally special about it until morning when my ah lians msg me to wish me everything soon soon li li for this new start to our career as a teacher! then it dawned on me that, hey, i'm a full-fledged teacher already! hahaha...and it really feels good to be able to go back to the environment that i am so familiar with. just that the people who are reporting back to school today are people that i do not know, the other diplomas and degree students. but so far so good, they look kind enough and we managed to chat abit too :) first day, nothing much for us and we were not given any relief to do! haha..so most of the time was slacking around and i was able to shadow the teacher that i am going to take over from when she leaves for her maternity leave. spent some time in my future class, 5.1 and it was the ever so familiar feeling as though i have taught them for years :P hahaha...they were doing their Science toys for this competition and some of them did really good ones! like a catapult and a gameboard that lights up only when the correct answers were given! really fantastic! and one thing, im glad their science results were good according to miss azzulin, my main CT! heehee...but the other two classes that i taught, their english and maths were not so well done. think also cuz it was a cluster paper for the maths so the standard was increased to suit the other schools. of cuz one should feel proud that the class improved when you once taught the class for that few weeks, but somehow there is someone who overdid it by thinking it was all her credit when it was just that mere few weeks she taught. haha...well~~~ whatever it was, it doesnt matter anymore :)

left school earlier today after ms siah set me as leader for a project that is coming up in Term 3. something to do with the lower primary story-reading in cohesion with the parents support group. the parents will be the judges but details are not comfirmed yet. but hmmm...being the first project on hand, and i have to lead the rest of the BTs, i would want to do it well! :) hopefully the whole group of us can work well together! :) and for a good start of my teaching career, my main CT bought for me a whole set of stationeries!!! very nice of her!!!! :))))))))

what have i been doing the past 2 weeks? nie induction cum enrichment programme! haha..and apparently i skipped quite a few of the lectures cuz it was just too boring and not directly useful at all! heehee, so cheryl, skip whenever you can after marking attendance :P catching up with friends, chatting with my cliques in nie are the most enjoyable times past few weeks! heehee, and not to forget about ah ling jie's wedding! my very first time being a jie mei and i am so glad to see her officially announced as Mrs Lim!!!! haha...feel so happy for her really, although i have already accepted the fact that jeff and huiling are already husband and wife since their ROM but wedding being wedding, nothing beats the wedding banquet to make one feel really married rite?:) heehee...and a day of buzzing here and there from places to places and finally the wedding banquet at suntec ballroom :) was super honoured again to be the emcees with rongrong for the night! haha...gave so many of my virgin experiences to ah ling jie!!! hahahaha...first time attending my close friend's wedding, first time being a jie mei, first time being an emcee for the banquet! haha...gives me the practice for more such occasions at the later part of the year! hahaha...photos all up in facebook! :D

yawn~~~~ to think that i slept for 2hrs in the afternoon i am sleepy again now! haha...goin to surf the internet abit more before i retire for the night for school tomorrow :)

nie induction frenzy~

end of practicum liao! and this week started the nie induction programme. was pretty excited to go back to school to buzz with my cliques and so far though some of the talks were not as engaging as others, to be able to catch up with the rest of my friends is a great luxury already :) there is this particular speaker who managed to keep our full attention to him throughout the 3.5hrs of talk! and it was just merely talk!!! with a few slides only lor! but imagine how wonderful he was as a speaker to engaged us fully! :))) and what he said as a whole was to inspire us that "Attitude is Everything", which so happens to be my motto for all my students too. i often tell my students in the lower end that it doesn't matter in terms of their ranking in terms of classes, it is their attitude that matters the most. their attitude to learn, their attitude to strive to work hard and get better results each time. i think this attitude is alot more important. :) and today is the last day of the induction for this week! so fast!!! haha...not long after do we have to report back to school again! while i look forward to going back and see all my students, but i will still miss my bed more! :P

and today before heading down to science centre went down to chinatown with lia and gang to book our tickets to taiwan!!! wahahaha...cannot imagine i am goin to travel so much this coming june leh!!! well, i do deserve this holiday being my graduation year rite!! :P :P :P hahaha...shall look forward to June!!!!!!!!

exciting june programme

4 june - 8 june ----> going HongKong with my rongrong!!! first time travelling so far together! :D

13 june - 17 june ----> going Taiwan with my NIE clique!!! finally putting our words to actions and finally get to travel overseas together! :D

heehee...actuali that's about all for my june vacation (the major events), but still, travelling overseas has always been a big thing for me! and i cant help control my excitement!!! :)))))))))))))

and to what Mr Jeffery Goh had mentioned, a person needs 4 hugs a day to stay happy! so here's one for my rongrong for today!!! :D

end of practicum! :)

and yes!!!!! practicum is officially over!!!! haha...actually last week of school was a rather short and relaxing one since we no longer have to take anymore lessons as our CTs took back most of the lessons already. just that i still helped my CT marked some of the students' worksheets and corrections and let her return to the students on time. other than that, most of us trainees were doing relief like mad. i wonder why almost everyday there is a pool of teachers on medical leave/away on courses. but well, now being a trainee of cuz with the few periods that we have, we cant really complain as much too. but miss sim, the teacher who arranged the relief for this week, apologized to us for throwing so much relief work over the two days, thus on thurs and fri we do not have any single period of relief! heehee...so it was a slack and prepare presents time! :) especially on friday, i feel like i am like a santa clause! haha...giving away to all my darling students the gifts i bought for them :) i bet i will miss the two classes which i won't be teaching when i report back to CPS. but to count myself lucky, i am given two best classes to teach when i return as a beginning teacher, taking over a teacher going away on maternity leave. and one of the two classes which i will be teaching is a class that i have taught since last year's practicum, 5.1. i feel the stress when ms siah assigned the best class for me as form class. i fear that i can't deliver the results that is both accountable to the school as well as to the parents!!! *scratch head pull hair bite lips* and i am so motivated to go and get more assessment books myself to revise those concepts (EL and MA) myself in this june holidays:P well, and the last day of practicum i have a overflow of different emotions. happiness that practicum is over, sadness that i won't be teaching those classes which i have developed strong bonds with, anxiety because i do not know what is awaiting me in the near future, excitement because i am goin back to nie to meet all my friends and listen to all their stories for this 10weeks of practicum and the ultimate emotion, a great sense of emptiness because all of a sudden i can stop churning out lesson plans after lesson plans. looking back, i really salute myself for this 10weeks that had passed. i managed to clear it without taking any medical leave, had some cough here and there in this period, but i am still way fit enough to pull it through and enjoyed myself throughout these toiling yet satisfying weeks :) and i guess with all these flood of emotions which i told no one, i ignored my rongrong on the train ride to play vb on friday! haha...shall skip the details but i think with those unsettling emotions and addition of my pms-ing, i cant help but show my little tantrum over something minor. heehee...shall learn to control myself more next time! but rongrong must learn to pacify me abit oso leh~~~~~~ heeheehee...

went out for lunch with all the 8trainees to eat at Bossess restaurant at Vivocity, a treat from the 3 of us who got distinctions to the rest of them :) the restaurant really serve good food!! must go try the food there again! :) the dim sum is really nice. many thanks to min shan for introducing that place to eat! :) and of cuz partly due to the reason for the light-hearted mood that each of us had that day being the last day of the practicum that the food tasted so good. all photos up on facebook! just a couple here to round up this tedious practicum and putting a wonderful closure to it. a nice experience for me definitely, and i have gained alot in this practicum :) the end of the practicum, the beginning of the new journey as a full-fledged teacher. wonder what lies ahead in the future, but i am sure my passion to provide all the students who step into my class the best that i can give will be my ultimate priority and let's just hope that this passion will be undying and ever heated up for as long as can be :))))))

jiayou hweefen, a long journey awaits...... :)
