i survived!!!! :D

pheeeew~ and that is the end of another week of practicum. this week is the first week of a new term, of which i started teaching a p4 class instead of a p2 class for maths cuz of the change in the timetable for all the staff in the school. and to make it worst, my main CT was not able to stay with me for the start of the 3 days of the week due to p5 camp. so i was all alone to face the new class! but all was well, ahem ahem...hahaha..plus i knew some of them in the class cuz my previous TP i taught them when they were in 3.1! so not too bad i guess! :) and on friday, my sup had the first observation with me! haha...i think i reali prepared well for this lesson, after so many edits to my lesson plan, slides and worksheets that i did for the class. and i must say that while im happy that i got reali fantastic results reflected on my APT form, i could feel the pressure to do even better the next one she comes in. for the first observation, getting all excelling is quite stunning! and i seriously wonder am i thaaaaaat~~~ good or not. haha...im not hao lian-ing here, but seriously, my sup was so happy and full of praises for me! O_O what a close shave lor! but i was not nervous at all, maybe i know i am prepared, well prepared rather, and all ready to show her what i can do with my class :) im glad the games i played with my students they had enjoyed it, and im super super gan dong for all the help that other teachers (esp the HOD teachers who always will walk by my table and offer any help i need!!!!) and of cuz to my 2 CTs who were super duper nice in preparing me for my sup's arrival!!! :D :D reali reali many thanks for them, cuz if not for them, i probably could not have such interesting ideas for my tuning in activity and wont get such good feedback from my sup! :))))))) think i am reali fortunate to sit so near the HOD room!!! hahahaha...but still, i think they are just too nice teachers!! :)

special thanks to these teachers even though they may not read my post :P

Miss Sim - for lending me colourful pebbles for my Snake and Ladder game as counters
Miss Lim Siu Chin - for giving me idea to use fraction discs as demo and give out to students pizzas cut outs so that they have a touch of the manipulative as well!
Miss Kong - for suggesting to use pizza instead of cake for my lesson! :P
Miss Ong (my 2nd CT) - for lending me BIG dices that will light up when thrown for my Snake and Ladder even though i bought small ones already! :D
Miss Azzulin (my main CT) - for helping me proofread all my materials and helping me to brainstorm for my SEL part even while she was observing informally my Science lesson! :D :D
Ms Siah (my SCM) - for reading through my lesson plan before my observation and giving some little ideas that i can use for my lesson even though i din reali make use of them during my observation :))))

and i seriously think that i am so blessed :) with all the wonderful teachers behind me for my formal observation. according to my sup, she hopes that i can work towards a distinction cuz she thinks that i can achieve that. seriously, before the start of this TP, i set a target for myself as well, that is to get a distinction. im not sure if i have the calibre to achieve that but im sure i am working many times harder than the rest of the trainees in the school, not to outshine them, but to outshine myself. whether i can do it or not, by the end of my TP will know...hahaha...but again, whatever that i am doing, i find the joy and satisfaction not by seeing the nice comments on my APT forms, but to see my students learning and improving after each lesson that i taught. that is more satisfying than anything :)

more observations to clear in the weeks to come! and hopefully i am even more than ready for my 2nd observation by my sup in another week's time! :D

enough for school matters! heehee...is weekend! finally got time off to breathe and rest. cuz im sick again! hai...coughing since god knows when until now, it seems to have worsen again. and not to mention flu -_-! but i managed to survive the week with sexy voice but still audible enough for my students to hear. went out for a movie with my rongrong today! :D watched sucker punch, abit dun reali like the plot cuz it is a movie that is rather of the fantasy type. an experience of a girl brought into the mental hospital, but out of no reason the place was thought to be a night club??? haha...then after that the girl with a few others tried to escape and so had to steal some items to help them escape and each stolen item was an adventure for all of them. seriously abit weird for a movie, but still, a way for me and my rongrong to relax on a saturday! :D went to shop around too for pants that i can wear to work cuz those that i have are getting loose after each practicum-_-! din manage to buy any but still enjoyed walking around to shop with my rongrong!! weekdays we oso hardly get to meet each other, only saturday will have a chance to spend that few hours together! :))))))))) had dinner at kim gary (again :P) and while eating can see the fireworks at the sentosa area!! very nice leh! :)))))) and it was time to go back home :) time just zoomed while we are relaxing!!! :X

just finished some reflections for my lessons for the week. tml will be a day of lesson plans lesson plans!!!!! jiayou chiok hwee fen!! soon the hectic period will be over! :D

ask my rongrong to put his hand on my waist while we walk he complained 手很酸!!!!!hahahahaha...my 手很酸手很酸男朋友 :P *lovesssssss*

argh.......

is thursday! hai....so fast the holiday is coming to an end. it was a good break for me to rest and meet up with some friends for a little catch up:) just went to sentosa with hall 6 vb gals and we reali had a nice time playing beach vb! esp so when the beach is not so crowded and we get to use a court just by ourselves!:) the weather was very nice too, with a bit of clouds here and there to block out part of the sun too! nice weather, nice company, think ytd was then considered a real and enjoyable break for me. but of cuz, rest is never sufficient for me, especially so when i have to pia out so many lesson plans, as many as i can before the new term starts. will be a mad rush for lessons, observations and more lessons before the end of my practicum in 7 weeks time. and i seriously looking forward to a well-deserved break though i have no plans for holidays as yet. so nth much to look forward to and im just hoping that these 7 weeks will pass by smoothly for me :)

march holidays :)

and finally got a week break from practicum! *wipe sweat* haha...actually these 3 weeks that had passed were not tedious, cuz i din reali start teaching until the 3rd week cuz first week used for observation of my CTs and the new classes, 2nd week is their CA1 week, so proper teaching for me din start until the 3rd week. and even with the end of CAs, my CTs still have to take some of the periods back to go through their CA papers. hahaha...only the primary 2 class (im teaching them Maths) din get affected. so i managed to have 2 periods of Maths with them everyday, and even cleared one of my formal observation too! but cuz is the last week of term 1, the last day of school was sports carnival and all lessons suspended, so i only teach the primary 2 class for 4 days, and only 4days only. won't be teaching them again cuz of the reshuffle of all the timetables of all teachers, all students. so of cuz all trainees are also affected. when sch term starts in another week time, i have a new timetable (which i got already) and i am going to teach Primary 4 Maths instead. haha...i think if this kind of news strike my other trainee friends they will be super shocked and cannot accept it. though a bit surprised myself, i am quite ok with the change though it seems like i have to start all over again with all my classroom management stuff. haha..but i guess im still quite looking forward cuz i have some students whom i taught last year during my TP1 in that class! hahaha...so i guess it is not tat brand new a class after all :) luckily i still have my 2 Primary 5 classes (eng and science) intact without changes, just that the timetable changed abit here and there. and the Primary 5 cohort are going out for their primary 5 camp in Term 2 Week 1 first 3 days! which means i can shake leg and only focus on my primary 4 class that 3 days, which is good! :))) haha...so far i am enjoying myself alot reali, being so familiar with the teachers, the school aunties and all the school staff, i definitely feel more at home than any other trainees. but of cuz, i cant enjoy without those fun colleagues around! and i think is reali important to create such an environment esp when you have reali hectic schedule planning for the lessons, be it informal or formal observations, a nice environment like tis is reali great :) the learning journey for teachers and the sports carnival are 2events that i enjoyed myself greatly!!! photos up on fb! :)

looking forward to the coming week of break! shall meet and catch up with some of my friends, complete as many lesson plans for the coming week as i can too! :)

PS: tml goin to cook dinner for my rongrong cuz my mum is away to malaysia! will be cooking spaghetti and other finger food too! :D heehee....look forward look forward!!! :D

goodbye hall 6 :)

and yes, that's the end of IHG for hall 6 as well. ended the gruelling game of 2 hrs at SRC on wednesday this week facing a strong and yet defeatable hall 2 standing opposite us. we lost. din manage to blog about it due to practicum, but i guess i just dun wan to talk about it again so soon, re-opening the wound that was slit and inflicted on wednesday. it was reali a close fight i would say, so much better than the first time when we met hall 2 in the preliminary rounds. there were rallies, lots of them, and each gain or lost of points all din came easy. it was a clear win in the first set for hall 6, and of cuz, hall 2 din admit defeat as easily as yet. they changed their formation during the middle of 2nd set, from mai playing main spiker to the setter and this made zoey so much more easier now with so great setting. but again, they din totally thrash us as yet too. it was so so close, till the score of 24-26, hall 2 won. The 3rd set was the reali crucial one. seriously, i cannot remember the many details in that set. but it was that set when wx started to have leg cramp and was sub out, and shaz sub in. but that's not the reason y we lost im sure. just that, somehow, our morale was affected. and according to how vanessa evaluated the match with me in sch ytd, she said it was mainly the 3rd set that turned the whole game to hall 2 advantage. needless to say, in the 4th set, zoey and mai team up and play till reali well i must say, but again, not a thrashing game at all. the sets we play are all beyond the 20points. so can reali imagine how close the fight was. though we lost, though some may feel is cuz of wx's injury and her carelessness that cost the lost this game, im rather neutral to all these comments. mainly because i feel that regardless of what the reason may be, we have lost. and the fact that i have to say goodbye to hall 6, to the rest of the 10 of them cuz we wun have chance to play again in IHG, i think that fact hurts more. and that is the reason why i broke down immediately when this harsh reality banged rite on me once the game was over that night. those who came to watch, im sure, left a very deep impression of how good hall 6 gals are, how the game looked as though it was the finals, how we bite reali tight and close at hall 2. and i must thank those who came down to watch us play as well. felicia my dear ah lian, sze and her jcrc and all the hall 6 residents, vanessa the ex-hall 6 sports sec, yingrong, hongyan, clarence and of cuz my dear rongrong:) im sure we gals had displayed a reali fantastic match on wednesday, of cuz im sure we can do even better or clinch the win back from hall 2. the 3 years of playing squatter for hall 6 is a reali wonderful experience for me, allowing me to make reali fantastic friends and overcomed many phobias that i once had for vb. and these were all told during the last debrief we had on wednesday. i wished i had shed tears of joy that night, i wished we were the ones who shouted yeah to proceed to the finals on friday night and till today, i am still reminising the match and feeling the little regret in not able to bring hall 6 to the finals. the tears we all shed during the debrief that night goes to show how much we all wanted to win and the fact that we no longer have to have any more trainings suddenly make us feel a sense of emptiness within us. we din go into the semi-finals by chance, we all had trained reali hard for it. no matter how good other teams were, they were not as determined as how hall 6 vb gals were for this IHG. and i am proud of all my gals for the commitment they had put in, the sweat and aches that all of us had to suffer from after each training. im glad i've stayed with hall 6 these years, im glad that my rongrong brought me into playing for hall 6 to allow me to know all these wonderful players, team mates, friends and soul mates. and im sure all of us will be able to spread our passion for vb for as long as we live :)

thank you for all the memories you had given me.

i will miss playing for you, hall 6, im sure i will.

i will miss all the wonderful friends i have, miss playing vb with all of you. miss the many trainings that we had for this IHG.

Take care my friends :)
